A filing cabinet of human lives,

Bulging at the seams.

In baskets stacked

Way beyond their means.

At the main office

Information is compiled,

Labeled, sorted,

Catalogued, and filed.

Files retrieved

On a regular basis.

Looking for gaps.

Trying to fill the empty spaces.

All the blanks filled;

Checked for quality control.

Some are returned,

Others let go.

So, where is my file

Among these cobwebs and tears?

Stored here in a box

For the next thirty years.
