Prisoner Express Art Display, Alliance of Families for Justice event

Artwork and writing by Prisoner Express members will be on display at a local event this Friday, September 13th.

We are honored to share these items with Alliance of Families for Justice and Friends of AFJ, in our ongoing efforts to humanize incarcerated people in the eyes of the public.

Remember Attica Uprising and Massacre

On September 13, 1971 was one of the most heinous massacres in New York State history, leaving 38 men dead–29 who were incarcerated and 9 prison guards. They all were assassinated at the Attica prison by the NYS National Guard and prison guards. You are invited to a cultural and educational event at the Creative Hub 4 Culture, W. MLK, Jr. St.. to “Remember the Attica Uprising and Massacre” to learn about the uprising for basic human rights, listen to the words of survivors of the Attica massacre and express our collective grief for those who were murdered by our state government.
